Chrishill, great post, thanks. The Kemper nails it, doesn’t it. If it wasn’t for my lust for the in-between sounds that I used to get from pedals, I’d have stuck with it. I’ve found a great happy medium now between digital and analog gear. Got two fantastic amps (am still looking for THE Marshall to compliment them) and the Load Box and CAB M really do make the world of difference.
You’re absolutely spot on, there’s definitely something alluring about amps, in general.
If I could give one piece of advice…be sure you get the right amp. Having the Kemper, you should know what that is now. I found mine and how to dial it in through owning an Axe FX. And importantly, the IR is everything. It’s the make or break of this setup. That’s why the CAB M makes life easier, I’d be lost without it.
If you’re ever near South Wales, feel free to come and try it all out sometime!
